Sponsor a Meal.

WHY SPONSOR A MEAL?

On Sundays following our worship service we always provide free lunch to students. This year we are inviting partnering congregations to help us with this meal. You can see our frequently asked questions below for more information and how to get involved!

HOW MANY PEOPLE SHOULD WE ANTICIPATE?

We typically have between 15 and 20 students, but we like to remind our partners that they can eat as if they are 20 to 25 students. More food is better than not enough food. Nothing goes to waste! We enjoy leftovers during the week.

WHAT SHOULD WE BRING?

You bring the main dish(es), sides, dessert, and drinks. Some of our partners prefer to cater (Jimmy Johns, Qdoba, Backyard BBQ, pizza), some folks like to cook everything from scratch (hot dishes, pasta, soups), and some do a mix of both. Our students eat most anything. We do have a few with allergies to gluten and dairy.

WHAT DOES THE MINISTRY PROVIDE?

We bring plates, cups, bowls, utensils, napkins, and drinks. If you give us a heads up, we can provide anything else you might not be able to get for the evening.

DO WE BRING THE MEAL ONTO CAMPUS?

Yes! You will bring the meal to the University Lutheran Center on Sundays around 11:45am of your hosting date.

DO WE GET TO STAY FOR THE MEAL?

We are committed to creating a brave and vulnerable space for our students. For that reason, we ask that our partners only stay for the meal if they are explicitly invited by Pastor Cassandra for a specific topic or conversation.

CAN WE JUST DONATE MONEY INSTEAD?

Absolutely! Many of our congregations simply give $100-$150 for a meal for our students and we take care of ordering everything and transporting it to campus.
